So as I write this I am sitting on the floor in the corner of my quickly emptying basement suite watching the movers do thier thing, I can't help but feel pretty good about the fact that I don't have to pack myself for this move. They say that moving is one of the most stressful things you can do in life, along with buying a car and buying a house. Well since I have done two out of three this month alone, it has put me in a pretty strange frame of mind. The past month has seemed almost surreal if you can imagine what I mean.
About the only thing that I am looking forward to is the actual work that I will be doing. The experience of working in a generation station will be good, but I already know that the social life is going to suffer. But I have plans to keep myself busy, just so long as I can follow through with my own promises. I plan to quit smoking of course, but I have been saying I should do that for years. I'm hoping to actually get out and do some physical things which should help with the quitting, and to that end I have pulled my bike out of storage for the first time in about 5 years. Tongue in cheek, I just hope I can remember how to ride the damned thing. I'm thinking that I should spend a few extra bucks once I get up there as well to buy some camping stuff as well and make some trips out to a few of the small lakes in the area to just chill for a night or two.
At any rate the movers are just finishing up here now, so I should cut this a little short and get to tidying things up after they leave. Is it customary to tip movers, and how much? It's not like I'm going to tip them 15% of $3600, but maybe enough that they can grab some lunch or something. I plan to start posting some pictures on here as well for those of you that are interested in what a small town of 1500 people actually looks like.
cheers
jeff
